"Hey Guys, Things have been a little bit crazy here at team Shiseido Red, some of you know that Hoff, our fabulous guitarist, has decided to kick off his Shiseido shoes for a while and enjoy married life and a couple of other musical projects he has going on closer to home. As a result I have decided to soldier on solo, losing the name Shiseido Red and carrying on as Paul Diello.
Fear not, I'm keeping the lovely Tessa Gilles close by, I wouldn't let her fabulous violin playing slip through my fingers, it just feels like time for a change and it would feel wrong to carry on the name without my brother next to me. So I'll be playing the same songs, and a bunch of new ones with a bit of a different arrangement at a venue near you soon!!
We've really appreciated your support over the years and I'm gonna need you more than ever now as I venture into the scary world of the unknown! I'll be in touch soon" Paul Diello (June 2008)

ABOUT PAUL DIELLO
Paul started performing with his brother Michael and friend Tigger in 1999 with their acoustic covers threesome 'Hessian Drape'. They played in local pubs for a while until he and Michael were picked up by founder member of rock band 'Porcelain'. After a year or so they decided to break away and start a band using their own material, having both written songs since they were young. Shiseido Red started life as a rock band with drums, bass, electric guitar and keyboards, but as time went on they decided their true sound was at its best acoustically, This format allowed the brothers the chance to exhibit the close harmonies, rhythmic and melodic style for which they became renowned. After a couple of years of playing their new style they came across classically trained violinist Tessa Gilles who added her own haunting and delicate vibe to the Shiseido sound. In June 2008 Michael decided to depart from Shiseido Red due to other commitments, leaving Paul to continue playing his music in the original form in which they were written, on piano.
He's currently in the studio working on his first solo album and looks
forward to taking the new sound out on the road.

Singer/pianist Paul’s lyrics are exquisitely emotive, with singer/guitarist Hoff's writing touchingly reflecting on social issues. Whilst the guys are inspired by an assortment of musicians; (including The Beatles, Tori Amos (band name chosen from a Tori lyric), PJ Harvey, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, REM and The Smiths; to mention but a few!) when asked ‘who are they like’ it’s a tough one, for their sound is distinctively SHISEIDO RED.

The guys had a great time last year including ....... Supporting TEXAS at Arundel Castle. "This Brighton, Indie-acoustic 2 piece; winners of the ‘Rox Music Challenge’, ‘wowed the audience with their harmonies’ (W.S.G); as they supported ‘TEXAS’ at Arundel Castle, to a sell out crowd of over 5,000 at the Arundel Festival"
